Release Date:

2023-06-03

On June 3, graduate students from Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Nongda Group”) attended the “Revitalization Elite Program” graduate student presentation session organized by Shandong Agricultural University. A total of 58 Nongda Group graduate students enrolled in the 2021 and 2022 cohorts presented reports on the commercialization of research findings and ongoing project proposals. Vice President Lin Hai attended the session and delivered a speech, while Ding Fangjun, Deputy General Manager of Nongda Group, also took part in the presentations.
President Lin fully endorsed the new model of joint professional-degree graduate education through university–enterprise collaboration, exemplified by the “Revitalization Elite Program.” He noted that Nongda Group and Shandong Agricultural University have long enjoyed a relationship of friendly cooperation and mutual development, characterized by deep historical ties and close collaboration. The joint establishment of the “Revitalization Elite Program” by the university and the group aligns with the Ministry of Education’s educational objectives and represents a win‑win initiative for both parties. For the university, this marks an important step in innovating and opening up its governance framework and reforming its graduate‑education model; for Nongda Group, it is a significant endeavor to strengthen its talent pool in response to economic and social development needs, thereby driving corporate transformation and upgrading and enhancing its capacity for innovation. President Lin expressed his hope that the graduate students participating in this presentation would draw inspiration from interdisciplinary exchanges, further explore and refine their research topics, and promptly apply their findings to frontline production.
At the meeting, the 2021‑enrolled graduate students presented reports on the application and commercialization of their research projects, while the 2022‑enrolled students reported on the research topics they had been approved to pursue and on their current progress. Ding Fangjun provided individual feedback on each of the presenting graduate students.
It is understood that the “Revitalization Elite Program” is a professional‑degree master’s training model developed by the university in collaboration with its joint graduate‑training bases. In 2018, the university signed a joint‑training agreement with Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly establish the first cohort of the “Revitalization Elite Program” — the Agricultural University Fertilizer Class. In 2019, the program admitted 30 professional‑degree master’s students across nine specialties in eight colleges. To date, the initiative has expanded to 13 specialties in 11 colleges, with a total of 120 students enrolled. Through the concerted efforts of both parties, the first two cohorts of 60 graduates have successfully completed their studies and taken up new positions, achieving an employment rate of 98%. Preliminary results are already evident: graduates from the two cohorts of the Agricultural University Fertilizer Class have translated 13 research projects into practical applications, commercialized 9 products, developed one new process, and optimized three methods. Moreover, the digital agriculture platform co‑developed by the students has entered the trial‑use phase; technologies such as powder‑forming and caking of humic acid products, as well as dust‑collection methods, have been implemented in production and promoted for wider use; and a microbial fertilizer specially formulated for peach trees, along with a bio‑organic fertilizer made from chicken manure, have already been launched on the market. Furthermore, the practical research outcomes of 17 students have been published in the form of academic papers, patents, or software copyrights.
The Science and Technology Office, the Graduate School, members of the Graduate Student Supervisory Committee, along with representatives from the Research Institute of Shandong Nongda Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd. and the Academy of Agricultural Sciences, jointly attended the event.
