Peanuts are rich in nutrients, including amino acids, proteins, and fats, and offer a range of health benefits, such as anti‑aging effects, enhanced memory, disease prevention, and hemostatic and hematopoietic functions. For many years, China has accounted for more than one-third of global peanut exports; however, the relatively concentrated distribution of peanut‑producing regions and farmers’ traditional cultivation practices have led to prolonged monoculture, giving rise to a host of associated problems.

Peanut microbial agent upgraded again—strong disease protection and robust growth promotion.

Following long-term continuous cropping of peanuts, there are increases in pest and disease incidence, alterations in the composition of nutrient elements in the rhizosphere soil, shifts in the structure of the rhizosphere microbial community, and the production of allelopathic compounds by the roots that exert autotoxic effects. These changes lead to abnormal plant development and modifications in physiological and biochemical characteristics, ultimately resulting in a year‑by‑year decline in both yield and quality.

Meanwhile, the extensive application of chemical fertilizers has led to a series of problems, including severe degradation of the agricultural ecological environment, a continuous decline in fertilizer use efficiency, an increase in crop diseases and pests, the accumulation of heavy metals in the soil, and a deterioration in the quality of agricultural products. In recent years, driven by an excessive focus on the economic returns of peanut production, practices such as prioritizing nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers over potassium, favoring chemical fertilizers at the expense of organic ones, and emphasizing macronutrients while neglecting micronutrients have resulted in nutrient imbalances in the soil and low production efficiency, thereby seriously undermining the sustainable development of peanut farming.

In response to the aforementioned issues, agricultural experts have proposed measures such as crop rotation, intercropping, and fallow‑crop succession; the selection of varieties tolerant to continuous cropping; rational fertilization; and the application of microbial inoculants to mitigate the adverse effects of peanut monoculture. In recent years, microbial inoculants have garnered widespread attention from farmers due to their notable benefits, including the improvement of soil microbial communities, the enhancement of soil organic matter content, and the regulation of soil pH.

To this end, Nongda Fertilizer has meticulously developed and comprehensively upgraded a specialized compound microbial agent for peanuts, designed to prevent white mold disease, fruit rot, and empty or shriveled pods, while replenishing meso- and micronutrients and improving soil conditions, thereby achieving both disease control and yield enhancement.

Junlin Huifeng – Peanut Compound Microbial Inoculant scientifically combines organic–inorganic granules with a composite microbial strain containing 15 billion CFU/g. While enhancing the survival rate of viable microorganisms, it also replenishes the nutrients and organic matter essential for peanut growth, further improving its disease‑prevention and growth‑promoting performance. The key product upgrades are as follows:

Peanut microbial agent upgraded again—strong disease protection and robust growth promotion.

  1. Enhanced Strain Composition: Building on the original strains—Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens—the product incorporates Trichoderma harzianum, forming a composite probiotic consortium of biocontrol fungi and bacteria. By competing with pathogens such as Sclerotium rolfsii and fruit‑rot pathogens for nutrients and ecological niches, this formulation suppresses pathogen growth, reduces their population, and thereby mitigates crop diseases.

  2. Enhanced Nutrient Profile: The product boosts nutrient content to 10%, with an N-P-K ratio of 4:3:3, while also delivering 5% of secondary and micronutrients (calcium, magnesium, and silicon). When applied to the soil, it replenishes essential nutrients, optimizes nutrient ratios, maximizes fertilizer efficiency, increases yields, and improves crop quality; at the same time, it enhances soil properties, boosts soil fertility, and ensures balanced yield improvements for peanuts.

  3. Further Process Optimization: A proprietary, in-house developed granulation technology is employed to produce microbial inoculants with uniform particles, robust particle size, and excellent resistance to pulverization and caking. This ensures ease of application and compatibility with a variety of fertilization methods.

  4. Enhanced Packaging: Based on field trials and feedback from growers, to improve product performance and ease of use, the package size has been upgraded from 10 kg per bag to 20 kg per bag, ensuring one bag per mu. Larger packaging delivers greater efficiency and better value!

With the adjustment of agricultural cropping patterns, the area dedicated to peanut cultivation has continued to expand. In recent years, in pursuit of high yields and economic returns, fertilizer application rates have remained persistently high. While heavy fertilizer use has boosted peanut production, it has also led to declining fertilizer-use efficiency, deterioration of the agricultural ecological environment, and reduced quality of farm products—among other issues. The combined application of fertilizers and microbial inoculants in agriculture can promote sustainable development by effectively improving soil conditions, increasing soil nutrient levels, enhancing the diversity and abundance of soil microorganisms, and stimulating crop growth, thereby raising both yield and quality.

The effects of the Junlin Huifeng peanut‑associated microbial inoculant on key agronomic traits, nutrient accumulation and distribution, protective enzyme activities, yield components, and changes in the rhizosphere bacterial community structure are of great significance for enhancing peanut quality and promoting the sustainable development of peanut production.
