From the “Two Bombs, One Satellite” program and the “Miracle Rice of the East” to space exploration and 5G roaming, China’s scientific and technological endeavors have continuously shone with brilliance. Day and night, dedicated scientists and engineers shoulder a formidable mission, guiding the nation toward becoming a global leader in science and technology. May 30 has been designated as National Science and Technology Workers’ Day, marking its fifth anniversary this year. In response to the national call and in line with the theme of the day—“Unity of Hearts Toward the Party, Self-Reliance and Strength”—Shandong Nongda Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd. organized its inaugural Science and Technology Workers’ Day symposium and a meeting on upgrading the quality of its small‑size fertilizers. The event was chaired by Guo Xinsong, Director of the Nongda Fertilizer Research Institute, and attended by Ding Fangjun, Vice President of Technology; Chen Shigeng, Director of the Research Institute; Li Hongqiang, Director of the Human Resources and Operations Center; Bi Jing, Director of the Quality Control Center; Li Ling from the General Office; as well as researchers from both the Research Institute and the Agricultural Science Institute.

At the outset of the meeting, Deputy General Manager Ding Fangjun shared with attendees the origins of China’s Science and Technology Workers’ Day and outlined the theme of this session. He acknowledged the contributions of all R&D personnel in driving year-over-year growth in the company’s sales despite the broader industry’s downturn. At the same time, he underscored the urgent need to upgrade the quality of the company’s small‑fertilizer products, provided guidance on the direction for enhancing these offerings, and offered new insights and inspiration to the R&D team. He emphasized that continuous self‑reflection and a commitment to self‑improvement are essential steps for sustaining the company’s core competitiveness.

Research Institute Director Chen Shigeng and Agricultural Science Institute Director Guo Xinsong each led their respective institutes in delivering detailed reports on the current production and sales status, application performance, and quality issues of the company’s industrial products and minor fertilizer products. The meeting identified successful practices through an analysis of outstanding products and case studies, while also proposing concrete corrective measures and improvement plans for problematic products and potential risks. In total, more than thirty improvement initiatives were put forward. All R&D personnel actively engaged in discussions on products and technologies, sparking new ideas and insights through brainstorming sessions. Cutting‑edge product technology and superior performance are key pillars that enable the company to maintain its market leadership. The entire R&D team across both institutes will continue to work diligently, carefully consider market feedback, and steadfastly pursue product innovation and upgrades, providing the strongest foundation for the company’s continued growth.

Deputy General Manager Ding Fangjun concluded by emphasizing that all R&D personnel must diligently implement the measures outlined at this meeting, continuously deliver cutting-edge, high-quality products to farmers and marketing teams, and provide technical support to both. He urged everyone to keep the company’s mission—“to help more farmers achieve greater economic benefits”—deeply ingrained in their hearts, to strive unremittingly, and to fully support the company’s growth. Let us together applaud every outstanding science and technology professional!
