Only through diligence can one master the classics.

—Wishing Little Fei every success in the “100-Day Campaign”!

The extraordinary year of 2020 has reinforced our understanding of the critical role fertilizer companies play in safeguarding national food security. As a major agricultural province, leaders at all levels—including Provincial Party Secretary Liu Jiayi—have visited the company to inspect its resumption of work and production, helping to address challenges and underscoring their earnest expectations for the company’s efforts to ensure spring‑time farming.

Living up to expectations! By the end of March, we had successfully completed our mission, fulfilled our commitment to the Provincial Party Secretary, and achieved a major breakthrough in the company’s development, with first-quarter year-on-year growth exceeding 40%.

What should we do next?

Beyond the secure reserves and supply of wheat and corn, what else needs to be safeguarded to ensure food security?

As a country with a large population, the safety of vegetables and fruits is a critical issue for both public welfare and the economy. While ensuring an adequate supply of fertilizers for staple field crops, we must also shift toward developing specialized cash‑crop regions.

At the 2019 Spring Festival gathering, Chairman and General Manager Ma Xuewen delivered a report titled “Eat Today’s Meals While Charting Tomorrow’s Path,” marking the beginning of the company’s strategic shift toward the economic‑crop sector. The presentation outlined the company’s growth trajectory, operational model, and marketing approach, while also proposing targeted measures to address key challenges. Together, we took an oath to uphold “two reminders and two respects,” ensure rigorous implementation, and grow and thrive alongside the company. At the 2020 core‑market launch meeting, General Manager Ma refined this transformation into a “Stability + Expansion + Transformation” marketing strategy, urging everyone to pioneer untapped markets and drive the company’s continued progress. The upcoming “Hundred‑Day Campaign” for small‑scale fertilizers represents a strategic initiative aimed at breaking with conventional practices, accelerating our transition to the economic‑crop segment, and safeguarding the safety of our vegetable and fruit products.

Why is it said to be a change in traditional habits?

At the 2019 New Year gathering, Vice President Ding Fangjun of the company remarked that life has no four seasons—only two: when you work hard, it’s peak season; when you don’t, it’s off‑season. In the past, April through July was traditionally our company’s slow period, and we used to assume that if we focused on wheat one season and corn the next, everything would be fine for the year. However, our food and beverage business knows no distinct peak or off‑peak seasons, nor does crop cultivation across the country.

Therefore, at the 2020 Core Market Kickoff Meeting, Jack Ma delivered a speech titled “Clarify Your Vision, Work Diligently—That’s Success,” calling on everyone to roll up their sleeves and work hard to achieve success.

The “100-Day Campaign” launched today comes with no other expectations from the company, and we are confident that we will emerge victorious. After years of experience, our team has developed a deep understanding of our products, mastered competitive benchmarking and campaign execution, and forged seamless cross‑departmental collaboration. Our only expectation is that you all remain diligent—diligent, and even more diligent!

The doorway of the greenhouse is quite low, so we have to bend over and “duck” through it to figure out how best to serve the growers. Inside, the temperature is high and the humidity is considerable, requiring us to work up a sweat in order to provide even better support. Moreover, managing crops in greenhouses demands sophisticated techniques, so we must keep learning to earn the growers’ trust in our services.

With diligence, nothing is too difficult! As we transition to the Jingzuo area and promote our new line of small‑size fertilizers, we will inevitably encounter various challenges and issues. We must keep “diligence” firmly in mind: conduct more product demonstrations and field trials to help customers understand our products’ key selling points and profit drivers; actively organize comparative efficacy tests and share results to showcase the performance and the tangible benefits of increased yields and incomes; ensure seamless coordination between front‑line teams and back‑office support, fostering unity across all levels and channeling our efforts through a single, focused approach; and approach every task with dedication and a commitment to excellence, persevering over the long term to achieve ultimate success through patience and perseverance.

The objectives and tasks have been clearly defined, and the charge has been sounded! Let us join hands, work diligently, and together usher in a new chapter for Nongda Fertilizer’s specialized fertilizer business.
