Has led more than ten research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s General Program, the 13th Five-Year National Key R&D Program, the Shandong Provincial Key R&D Program, the Taishan Industry Leading Talent Project, and various enterprise‑funded initiatives.
During the course of the research, key core technologies in the production of controlled-release fertilizers were successfully mastered. The research team then transferred this technology to industry, enabling large-scale industrial production of controlled-release fertilizers in China and setting the direction for the development of the domestic advanced fertilizer sector.
He has successively received one Second Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress (as the fourth author), one First Prize for Shandong Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress (as the fourth author), one China Invention Patent Excellence Award (as the first author), as well as numerous other awards and honors, including the title of Outstanding Inventor of Shandong Province.
A total of 25 national invention and utility model patents have been obtained, including 18 granted national invention patents and 7 granted utility model patents.
He has published more than 40 papers in leading domestic and international journals, including 15 articles as first or corresponding author in SCI-indexed journals such as “J. of Mater. Chem. A,” “ACS Appl. Mater. & Interfaces,” “ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng,” “J. Agric. Food Chem,” “SSSAJ,” and “Agronomy Journal.”
In 2010, he became a member of the Soil Science Society of America (member no. 351721), and in 2016, he joined the American Chemical Society (member no. 30891124). He has served as a reviewer for journals including ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Soil Science Society of America Journal, and Agronomy Journal, and was recognized by the American Chemical Society as an outstanding reviewer.
