Research Focus:
1. Molecular Basis of Plant Development: This research direction focuses on key scientific questions in plant development, including flowering time, floral organ development, pollination, and seed formation, with particular emphasis on elucidating the molecular mechanisms by which hormones regulate organogenesis. The overarching goal is to dissect the gene regulatory networks underlying these developmental processes and to uncover the cellular and molecular foundations of plant development.
2. Plant Genetic Engineering: This research direction primarily leverages advances in plant molecular biology and gene‑engineering technologies to improve key agronomic and quality traits in wheat and maize, thereby increasing crop yields and enhancing product quality, with applications directly supporting agricultural and industrial production.
