In his address, Ma Xuewen, Chairman of Shandong Nongda Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd., noted that, through years of arduous entrepreneurship, the company has grown from a small, school‑run enterprise producing just a few thousand tons of fertilizer annually into a national key high‑tech enterprise with an annual output of one million tons of advanced fertilizers and sales exceeding RMB 1.5 billion, as well as Asia’s largest production base for humic acid fertilizers. With the construction and commissioning of its Taian High‑Tech Zone project in 2003, its controlled‑release fertilizer project in 2005, its Feicheng project in 2008, and the National Soil Remediation Project in 2015, Nongda Fertilizer has steadily expanded its capabilities. The company remains committed to innovative development, starting with blended fertilizers and subsequently researching and developing a range of advanced products—including slow‑ and controlled‑release fertilizers, humic acid fertilizers, water‑soluble fertilizers, biofertilizers, soil conditioners, and fruit‑tree nutrient solutions—thereby establishing a comprehensive portfolio of premium‑grade offerings and securing a leading technological position in this field.

Over the next two decades, Nongda Fertilizer Industry will remain committed to its mission of “enabling more farmers to access higher‑quality fertilizers,” strengthening the development and promotion of innovative fertilizer products such as humic acid fertilizers, controlled‑release fertilizers, biofertilizers, and soil conditioners. The company is dedicated to providing integrated crop‑and‑soil nutrition solutions and services, delivering healthy, nutrient‑rich support to agriculture while creating value for growers. In the next three years, Nongda Fertilizer Industry will vigorously establish 30,000 Nongda Technology Villages, comprehensively research and promote cutting‑edge functional fertilizers, and implement a marketing strategy centered on “one premium product + one premium service + one financial support package,” striving to achieve annual growth of at least 30%.

To achieve zero growth in China’s fertilizer use by 2020, boost agricultural productivity and efficiency, safeguard ecological and environmental security, and enhance the intrinsic quality of arable land, Director Xin Jingshu and Chairman Ma Xuewen, representing the National Agricultural Technology Extension Center and Shandong Nongda Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd. respectively, signed the “Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Promoting Zero Growth in Fertilizer Application and Restoring Farmland Ecological Environments, along with Nationwide Demonstration and Promotion of Humic Acid Fertilizers and Soil Conditioners.” This marks a new stage in the collaboration between the two parties and heralds a fresh, win-win‑win scenario involving government, enterprises, and farmers.

(Ceremony of Signing)

Zeng Xiancheng, Chairman of the China Humic Acid Industry Association, extended warm congratulations on behalf of the Association to Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd. on the occasion of its 20th anniversary. He emphasized that climate change is inextricably linked to the soil carbon pool. Soil serves as the Earth’s largest carbon reservoir, with humic acid accounting for more than 65% of its carbon content. If soils were to cease storing carbon, the climate would face severe challenges; meanwhile, fertilizers are the primary factor influencing both soil health and global climate change. Humic acid functions as the planet’s “carbon stabilizer,” while also acting as a vital “logistics hub” for nutrients within the soil. Over the past two decades, by focusing on humic‑acid‑based fertilizers, Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer has seized a key element in fostering harmony between soil and fertility, achieving remarkable results that have earned it widespread recognition in the industry. Particularly against the backdrop of zero growth in chemical fertilizer use, the company has proactively shouldered the national mission of reducing fertilizer application while enhancing efficiency, taking it upon itself to promote humic‑acid‑based, nature‑derived fertilizers—efforts that deserve high praise.

At the meeting, Ding Fangjun, Deputy General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer Industry, read out the initiative letter calling for the establishment of the China Humic Acid Fertilizer Industry Technological Innovation Strategic Alliance. Xin Jingshu, Director of the National Agricultural Technology Service and Promotion Center; Xiu Xuefeng, Vice Chairman of the China Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association; Chen Li, Director of the China Chemical Information Center; Ji Jingtao, Vice President of Shandong Agricultural University; Liu Yansheng, Director of the Soil and Fertilizer Station of the Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture; Yuan Jiuliang, Deputy Minister of the Organization Department and Director of the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Tai’an City; Zhang Mingxin, Chairman of Taishan Liquor Group Co., Ltd.; and Zeng Xiancheng, Chairman of the China Humic Acid Association, jointly launched the China Humic Acid Fertilizer Industry Technological Innovation Strategic Alliance.

The following day, the award ceremony for the “Nongda Fertilizer Cup” Grain King Competition—sponsored and supported by the Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture and co-organized by Shandong Agricultural University and the radio and television station—began.

The current “Grain King Competition” was launched on March 21. After more than eight months of yield measurement and evaluation, the “Provincial Corn High-Yield Champion” was selected in each of six regional divisions—Eastern Shandong, Southwest Shandong, Central‑South Shandong, Southern Shandong, Northern Shandong, and Central Shandong. The judging criteria prioritized the highest yield per mu. Following fierce competition and on-site yield assessments, Wang Qingyang from the Central Shandong region emerged as the overall champion, taking home a cash prize of 99,999 yuan. The five regional division champions each received a prize of 19,999 yuan, while the ten finalists were awarded two tons of “Nongda” fertilizer apiece.

At the awards ceremony, Lu Shouzun, Deputy General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer Industry, stated that building on the successful organization of the 2015 Corn “Grain King Competition,” the company will launch the 2016 Wheat “Grain King Competition” and host the Hebei–Shandong–Henan “Grain King Competition” across these three provinces. In 2017, we will sponsor the national “Grain King Competition.” We are committed to reinforcing the equation: Humic Acid = Nongda Fertilizer Industry = Grain King, thereby motivating farmers to make the most of fertilizers, adopt scientific farming practices, and strive to become “Grain Kings,” while enhancing the company’s reputation as a steadfast supporter of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers.

“Enabling more farmers to use better fertilizers” is the guiding principle of Nongda Fertilizer Industry. Committed to serving farmers and our extensive network of distributors, we will continue to develop innovative products, explore new marketing strategies, achieve breakthroughs, and write a brighter new chapter for agriculture.
