Innovation is Everywhere—The Promotion and Application of the Net-Bag Stacking Method

Release Date:

2015-11-13

To reduce workers’ physical workload, we decided to improve the method of stacking raw materials. As is well known, the conventional stacking approach involves placing goods directly on pallets, requiring them to be moved and loaded onto trucks again when needed in the workshop. For example, if a new workshop operates at a single-shift output of 250 tons and employs four workers to handle material delivery, each worker would have to load and unload an average of 62.5 tons—clearly illustrating the heavy labor burden. To alleviate this strain on workers and boost production efficiency, after studying the stacking practices of other manufacturers, we purchased a batch of mesh bags and assigned loaders to stack the raw materials directly into these bags (as shown in the figure below). Each mesh bag is designated for a fixed weight, with two bags forming one stack.

To reduce workers’ physical strain and boost production efficiency, after studying the stacking methods employed by other manufacturers, we purchased a batch of mesh bags and assigned our loaders to stack raw materials directly into these bags (as shown in the figure). Each bag is loaded with a fixed weight; two bags are stacked together as one unit. When needed, the workshop lifts and transports the entire stack, thereby minimizing handling operations and lowering labor intensity.

Regarding the promotion of mesh bags, Deputy General Manager Ma Xuezhi convened a special meeting at the Production Center. He emphasized that mechanized operations are an inevitable trend—those who adopt them will reap the benefits. Departmental managers across all workshops have also come to a clear understanding, moving from initial skepticism to gradual acceptance. Our department will likewise take advantage of the off‑peak periods for inbound and outbound shipments to conduct pilot trials, progressively transitioning to stacking conventional raw materials in mesh bags. We will refine the process as we go, align with production workflows, reduce labor intensity, and enhance operational efficiency.
