On December 29, 2015, the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology convened a panel of experts to form an acceptance committee, which conducted provincial-level evaluations of three science and technology projects undertaken by the company. The committee comprised seven experts, including Professor Yuan Hongli from China Agricultural University, Liu Yansheng, Director of the Shandong Provincial Soil and Fertilizer Station, and Researcher Wang Shenqiang from the Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. At the meeting, after listening to project reports, reviewing relevant documentation, and inspecting the project sites, the committee expressed full recognition of all three projects. Specifically, the project titled “Research and Development of a Novel Active Humic Acid Slow-Release Fertilizer” successfully developed a humic‑urea‑sulfur product derived from weathered coal humic acid.

After listening to the project reports, reviewing the supporting documentation, and conducting an on-site inspection, the experts of the acceptance committee expressed full approval of the three projects. The project “Research and Development of a Novel Active Humic Acid Slow-Release Fertilizer” has developed a new process for the sulfidation‑activation of weathered coal‑derived humic acid, and integrated an innovative, all‑in‑one production system for active humic acid slow‑release fertilizer. The project “Research and Development of Key Technologies for High-Concentration Macronutrient Biofertilizers” has overcome the technical challenge of achieving coexistence between microorganisms and high‑concentration macronutrient fertilizers. The project “Study on Fluoride Detection in Fertilizers and Its Impact on Soil Residues and Crop Growth” has established safe concentration thresholds for fluoride in fertilizers with respect to soil and crops, and proposed specific control criteria for fluoride content in raw materials used in the production of compound (mixed) fertilizers. The technologies underlying all three projects have reached a domestically leading level, and the expert committee unanimously agreed to pass the acceptance review.

The successful implementation of these three scientific and technological achievements will positively enhance the company’s R&D capabilities in new‑type fertilizers, broaden its product portfolio, and innovate fertilizer‑marketing approaches, thereby providing strong support for the company to further consolidate its competitive edge in the new‑type fertilizer sector and advance its transformation and upgrading.
