[Effect Observation] Performance of a Humic Acid–Based Controlled-Release Nitrogen-Potassium Fertilizer Specifically for Garlic
Release Date:
2018-05-22
Garlic is one of the vegetable crops with relatively high fertilizer requirements, and its nutrient needs vary at different growth stages. The Soil Ecology Research Institute of Nongda Fertilizer conducted fixed-site field trials in Yangzhuang Town, Laiwu City, Shandong Province, and Ermiao Township, Lanling County, Shandong Province, to evaluate the performance of Nongda’s specialized nitrogen- and potassium‑controlled fertilizer for garlic. On January 17, May 9, and May 17, on‑site surveys and demonstrations were carried out. Yield measurements based on soil sampling showed a 25.6% increase compared with conventional fertilization. 01 Resistance to Frost Damage — January 17: Key findings: 1. The crop withstood cold air temperatures as low as −13°C, with no seedlings dying; 2. Root development was robust, outperforming other fertilizers,
Garlic is one of the vegetable crops with relatively high fertilizer requirements, and its nutrient needs vary across different growth stages.
The Soil Ecology Research Institute of Nongda Fertilizer Industry has selected, respectively, Yangzhuang Town, Laiwu City, Shandong Province; Ermiao Township, Lanling County, Shandong Province From the Agricultural University Nitrogen- and potassium‑controlled fertilizer specially formulated for garlic The effects were evaluated through site-specific follow-up trials, with field surveys and on-site observations conducted on January 17, May 9, and May 17, respectively.
Yield sampling showed a 25.6% increase compared with conventional fertilization.

Cause Analysis:
1. Nongda Fertilizer’s active humic acid fertilizer stimulates garlic root growth, enhances the plant’s uptake and conversion of nutrients, boosts cell membrane activity, and improves cold tolerance.
2. Nongda Fertilizer’s active humic acid fertilizer contains an ample supply of humic acid. Humic acid is the core component of organic matter; when applied to the soil, it enriches the soil and improves its structure. At the same time, it helps regulate leaf photosynthesis, promoting larger, deeper‑green leaves and robust plant growth.
3. Nongda Fertilizer’s controlled-release nitrogen fertilizer for garlic is applied in accordance with the crop’s nutrient requirements, minimizing early‑stage waste and ensuring effective topdressing later in the growing season.
