"Professionalism"

(Meng Haizhao, Property Management Department) We often hear or read in various media about numerous exemplary stories of dedication and professional commitment. So, what exactly is professional dedication? And how can one truly work with such dedication?

I believe that professional dedication means treating your work as a true calling—whether it is important or not, whether you hold a managerial role or work on the production line—and holding your profession in high regard. When a person approaches their career with respect and a sincere, reverent heart, even cultivating a sense of awe toward it, they have already embraced the spirit of dedication. To love one’s profession is to love one’s very life—a sentiment among humanity’s noblest virtues. Throughout our lives, whether we are rich or poor, fortunate or unfortunate, we cannot choose these circumstances; yet we can choose to take our work seriously and fulfill our responsibilities with diligence and integrity. Why is it that some, through hard work, ascend to the highest podiums and earn universal respect, while others end up achieving nothing at all? The answer is simple: they lacked the spirit of dedication in carrying out their duties.

To be dedicated to one’s work, one must embrace the mindset of loving whatever one does and mastering it. Since we have chosen this line of work, we should devote all our energy to it. Dedication is not empty rhetoric; it means doing every task conscientiously and with a down-to-earth attitude. For those who are truly dedicated, there are no small matters—simplicity does not equate to ease. Do not overlook your role simply because it seems insignificant, nor dismiss it just because you perceive it as having no future. When every employee handles even the smallest tasks well, those small tasks will grow into something substantial. On the job, giving your best for every minute is the minimum standard of dedication; and if you aspire to achieve great things, dedication remains the most fundamental requirement. Once we understand this principle, we also come to recognize our own responsibilities.

In my dreams, I’ve walked countless paths, yet when I wake, I’m still lying in bed. Empty talk harms the nation; practical action builds it up. Let us all take action—let our youth and the unique passion of young people infuse this era of bold self-expression. Let dedication become a trend, let it be a driving force, and together, let’s strive to make the Agricultural University Fertilizer Industry even better. Join hands, reject mediocrity, and keep forging new achievements.
