Enhance mechanization, develop new products that integrate organic and inorganic components, protect and loosen the soil, and promote balanced soil nutrition.
On May 20, the press conference for the “2016 Agricultural Supply-Side Reform and Development Forum and the Launch of Xinhuanet’s Rural Affairs Channel” was held at Xinhuanet. Ma Xuewen, Chairman of Shandong Nongda Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd., stated that the company focuses its research on fertilizers by emphasizing the harmonious integration of soil, fertilizer, water, and crops, with the aim of protecting the soil and helping farmers produce more green, organic food.
At present, Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer Co., Ltd. is continuously enhancing its level of mechanization and developing new products, addressing the current market conditions in China, land‑intensive farming practices, challenges in agricultural modernization, and adjustments to cropping patterns. By integrating organic and inorganic components, the company aims to maintain soil structure, promote soil looseness and fertility, and help restore a balanced nutrient profile in the soil.
Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer Co., Ltd. has developed an acid‑adjusting soil conditioner specifically for degraded soils. After several years of market introduction and adaptation, this product has gradually restored soil health to its pre‑degradation state. In addition, in line with the principles of “ensuring food security through technology and soil” and the Ministry of Agriculture’s goal of achieving zero growth in chemical fertilizer use, the company is promoting the integrated application of organic–inorganic fertilizers, biofertilizers, and conventional inorganic fertilizers, thereby reducing overall fertilizer consumption by 20% to 30%.
Ge Yuming, Assistant to the General Manager of Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd., stated: “The supply-side structural reform in agriculture has created new opportunities for enterprise development. Over the past two decades, Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer has remained committed to researching and innovating the harmonious nutrient dynamics between crops and soil. Currently, the company is developing and producing humic acid fertilizers, controlled-release fertilizers, soil conditioners, and bio‑inoculants—products that are fully aligned with contemporary market demands.”
As agricultural modernization advances, the fertilizer industry must intensify research in areas such as intelligent manufacturing, production efficiency, and product quality, developing new types of fertilizers tailored to China’s crop‑planting patterns. At the same time, reforms are needed on the service front: fertilizer companies can offer farmers more convenient, practical technologies that enhance fertilization efficiency and reduce labor requirements, which will become the guiding direction for agrochemical enterprises.
