Nongda Fertilizer Industry will take agricultural needs, food security, and farmland improvement as its guiding principles, innovatively develop, demonstrate, and promote new types of fertilizers, and make due contributions to building a modern agriculture that is resource‑efficient and environmentally friendly.

BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) — By Hu Kelu The press conference for the “2016 Forum on Agricultural Supply-Side Reform and Development and the Launch of Xinhuanet’s ‘Three Rural Issues’ Channel” was held at Xinhuanet on the 20th. Ma Xuewen, Chairman of Shandong Nongda Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd., stated that, amid the vigorous push for agricultural supply-side reform, Nongda Fertilizer will take agricultural needs, food security, and farmland improvement as its guiding principles, innovatively develop, demonstrate, and promote new types of fertilizers, and make its due contribution to building a modern agriculture that is resource‑efficient and environmentally friendly.

Ma Xuewen stated that, for more than two decades, the company has focused on the innovative research, development, and commercialization of soil health and crop nutrition products, establishing a leading position in the industry for buffer fertilizers and soil conditioners. It has now evolved into a comprehensive service provider for soil health and plant nutrition, with three production bases currently located in Shandong, Jilin, and Henan provinces.

Leveraging more than a hundred scientific and technological achievements and invention patents, Nongda Fertilizer has established a series of research and innovation platforms, including the National Engineering Laboratory for Efficient Utilization of Soil Resources, a National Research Workstation, and the Shandong Provincial Engineering Laboratory for Soil Improvement and Plant Nutrition. The company has undertaken over 30 provincial, ministerial, and national projects and has formulated four industry and national standards.

Speaking about the current state of agricultural inputs and fertilizers, Ma Xuewen notes that there is currently an oversupply of certain fertilizer types, while specialized formulations remain in short supply. Past practices of intensive, extractive production failed to safeguard soil health, leading to widespread soil compaction, salinization, and acidification. To ensure robust crop growth, it is essential to protect and nurture the soil. Fertilizer research must adopt an integrated approach that links soil, fertilizer, water, and crops. In response to trends toward land consolidation, increased mechanization, and evolving farming practices, the company has developed new products that effectively soften, loosen, and safeguard the soil, thereby helping to maintain a balanced nutrient profile.
