On March 24, under the organization of Xie Hongfan, director of the potassium sulfate workshop, Nongda Fertilizer Co., Ltd. conducted training on the proper use of positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and an emergency response drill. The training was primarily aimed at staff from Nongda Fertilizer’s ammonia station and maintenance personnel from the potassium sulfate workshop.
Zhu Jun, Director of the Production Center at Nongda Fertilizer Industry, attended the training. The session featured presentations and demonstrations by Jiang Wei and Dong Rong from Nongda Fertilizer Industry’s Safety and Environmental Protection Department. Following the training, a formal knowledge exam on respiratory protection equipment was administered, accompanied by hands-on practical exercises.
Through training and drills, the ammonia station personnel have further familiarized themselves with the emergency response plan for hazardous chemical accidents, validated the plan’s scientific soundness and operational feasibility, strengthened employees’ awareness of preventive measures against workplace safety incidents, enhanced the capabilities of the rescue team, and gained valuable hands-on experience.
Following the training exercise, Zhu Jun commended and affirmed the event. He emphasized that, as a major hazard source for Nongda Fertilizer, ensuring the safe operation of the ammonia station and preventing accidents is not solely the responsibility of the company’s Safety and Environmental Protection Department; it is a shared obligation for all employees of Nongda Fertilizer. The ammonia station is just one of many potential hazards; as the production and safety‑environmental hub of the company, he urged continued collaboration, information sharing, and the regular organization of safety‑related training and drills to enhance employees’ safety awareness and their ability to respond to and manage safety incidents.
