On January 29, the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Fertilizer Value-Added Industry Technology Innovation Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the “Alliance”) was held at the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Zeng Xiancheng, Honorary President of the China Humic Acid Industry Association, and Ma Xuewen, Chairman and General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer Industry—the leading brand in humic acid fertilizers in China—were invited to attend the meeting.
At the meeting, Zhao Bingqiang, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Alliance, summarized the Alliance’s work in 2017 and outlined the plan for 2018. He noted that in 2017, humic acid fertilizers demonstrated increasingly significant benefits in enhancing fertilizer efficiency, substituting for conventional chemical fertilizers, promoting green agricultural production, and improving the quality of agricultural products. These fertilizers delivered substantial yield increases across a range of crops, including wheat, corn, rice, garlic, potatoes, sunflowers, peanuts, peppers, and tomatoes—boosting yields by 8% to 30% compared with conventional fertilizers. Notably, even under reduced fertilizer application rates, integrated management of the “fertilizer–crop–soil” system enabled yield gains of over 10%.

Moving forward, leveraging the alliance and the newly approved Key Laboratory of Humic Acid Fertilizers under the Ministry of Agriculture, Nongda Fertilizer will continue to intensify its efforts in fundamental research, product development, and market promotion of humic acid fertilizers, thereby contributing to the goals of zero growth in chemical fertilizer use and green agricultural development.
