Through in-depth research on humic acids—grounded in sound theory, underpinned by advanced technology, yielding innovative products, established standards, and broad applications—this effort has delivered a truly scholarly feast to the entire industry.
From December 23 to 26, the “Second National Symposium on Soil–Fertilizer Harmony,” hosted by the China Humic Acid Industry Association, was held with great solemnity in Beijing. The conference brought together leading experts and scholars from across the country in the field of humic acid to deliver keynote presentations. Drawing on their profound research into humic acid—spanning its underlying mechanisms, cutting-edge technologies, innovative products, established standards, and practical applications—the speakers offered the entire industry a rich and comprehensive academic feast.
As a leading brand in China’s humic acid fertilizer sector, Nongda Fertilizer was invited to attend the conference. Ding Fangjun, Deputy General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer and Director of the Institute of Soil Ecology, delivered a presentation titled “Integration of Industry–University–Research Collaboration on Humic Acid and Its Efficient Application in Agriculture.”
Professor Ding Fangjun’s presentation covered the following aspects: (1) identification of humic acid raw materials; (2) oxidation‑activation and purification‑separation technologies for humic acid; (3) an integrated “Humic Acid Plus” industrial model; and (4) a comparative analysis of humic acid’s effects on improving soil physicochemical properties, enhancing biological activity, and boosting crop yields. In particular, he highlighted Nongda Fertilizer Industry’s demonstration efforts in applying humic‑acid‑based fertilizers, as well as the company’s national and provincial research platforms, its participation in 13th Five-Year Plan–level and provincial R&D projects, and its technical strengths—including national and industry standards and patents—thereby effectively advancing the integration of industry, academia, and research with the efficient utilization of humic acid in agriculture.
Nongda Fertilizer Industry was approved as the “Key Laboratory of Humic Acid Fertilizers of the Ministry of Agriculture,” earning unanimous praise from the attendees, while Professor Ding Fangjun’s presentation received unanimous acclaim.
Currently, the humic acid technology developed by Nongda Fertilizer has been extensively demonstrated and promoted across the country on crops such as corn and wheat, resulting in yield increases of 5% to 15% and a nitrogen fertilizer use efficiency improvement of more than 15 percentage points. This has significant implications for achieving zero growth in chemical fertilizer application. Over the past decade, this technology has been applied to 78 million mu of Chinese farmland, boosting grain production by 3.456 million tons (calculated on a corn basis), efficiently utilizing 300,000 tons of humic acid resources, and reducing environmental carbon emissions by 9.504 million tons.
Looking ahead, Nongda Fertilizer will continue to uphold the banner of “China’s leading brand in humic acid fertilizers,” take the lead in adhering to the “China Humic Acid Fertilizer Industry Self‑Regulation Covenant,” and truly ensure that “humic acid moves from the soil back into the soil,” thereby making new and even greater contributions to achieving harmony between soil and fertilizer and advancing green agricultural development in China.
