If you’re looking for the best in humic acid technology, head to Taian, Shandong—find it at China Agricultural University.

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the list of approved key laboratories. The “Ministry of Agriculture Key Laboratory for Humic Acid-Based Fertilizers,” led by Ma Xuewen, Chairman and General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer Industry, was successfully granted approval. This marks the nation’s strong emphasis on research and application of humic acid fertilizers, as well as a clear affirmation and high recognition of Nongda Fertilizer Industry’s more than two decades of R&D and promotion in this field.

The laboratory is headed by Ma Xuewen, Chairman and General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer Industry, and its Academic Committee comprises numerous leading researchers and experts from China’s humic acid fertilizer sector. Its mission is to enhance the bioactivity of humic acids by investigating a variety of activation methods and application technologies, thereby further advancing the five key benefits of humic acids: soil improvement, enhanced fertilizer efficiency, stimulation of crop growth, improved crop quality, and increased stress resistance.

As an essential nutrient for soil, “humic substances” and, as a core component of fertilizers, “humic acid,” Nongda Fertilizer has, since its inception, adhered to the guiding principle of “rooted in Nongda, nurturing the soil, balancing nutrition, and fostering harmony between soil and fertilizer,” with the mission of “enabling more farmers to access higher‑quality fertilizers.” The company is dedicated to the research, development, and promotion of humic‑acid‑based fertilizers, having established a comprehensive “Humic Acid Plus” product line that has earned recognition from the national government, the market, and customers across China. Nongda Fertilizer’s humic‑acid activation technology was awarded the “China Patent Excellence Award,” and the industry standard for “Humic Acid Compound Fertilizers” was spearheaded by Nongda Fertilizer and has been implemented nationwide. Today, Nongda Fertilizer has become a leading brand in China’s humic‑acid fertilizer sector, with its products having collectively improved the health of 72 million mu of Chinese farmland.

The recent approval of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Key Laboratory for Humic Acid‑Based Fertilizers represents a major opportunity for Nongda Fertilizer and, more broadly, for the nationwide research and promotion of humic acid fertilizers. It will provide crucial support for the development of humic acid fertilizers in China and for the advancement of green agriculture across the country. Nongda Fertilizer will also integrate internal and external resources to seamlessly combine research with practical application, striving to establish the laboratory as a first‑rate, internationally leading, and distinctly specialized key facility. Furthermore, it will create an open platform for information exchange and innovation in the development of novel humic acid‑based fertilizers, elevate the overall level of humic acid fertilizer research in China, align with and serve the national supply‑side structural reform in agriculture, foster the growth of the humic acid fertilizer industry, promote sustainable agricultural development, and make its due contribution to realizing China’s agricultural vision.
