Recently, the National Intellectual Property Administration announced the award decisions for the 19th China Patent Awards. The invention patent titled “A Method for Preparing an Active Humic Acid Slow-Release Fertilizer” (Patent No.: ZL201010609758.7), developed by the R&D team of Nongda Feiyе, was awarded the China Patent Excellence Award.
After years of research, practical application, and continuous improvement, the company has pioneered a method for the continuous, large-scale production of active humic acid–based slow-release fertilizers, thereby addressing key industry‑wide technical challenges: conventional humic acid activation processes are highly polluting, costly, yield low levels of active humic acid, and cannot be seamlessly integrated with the production of compound fertilizers.
Compared with conventional activation methods, the present invention increases the water solubility of humic acid by 30% and boosts the number of active functional groups by 50%. It also improves the first-pass yield by 18.6%, raises production capacity by 18.38%, and reduces energy consumption by 6.5%. The core technology underlying this patent has been recognized by experts as being at an internationally advanced level and was awarded the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Shandong Province in 2016 and the First Prize for Patents of Tai’an City in 2015.
The China Patent Award is a government‑sponsored prize that recognizes inventions and innovations granted patent rights in China. It is endorsed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and enjoys considerable international recognition. Its evaluation criteria not only emphasize the technological sophistication and level of innovation of the patented subject matter but also place great importance on its practical application and commercialization. This award further underscores Nongda Fertilizer’s prominent position within the industry and its leading expertise in the research and development of humic acid‑based fertilizers.
