Nongda Fertilizer’s potato-specific fertilizer helps reduce fertilizer application while boosting efficiency.
Release Date:
2017-06-15
The potato-specific nitrogen–potassium dual‑control fertilizer launched by Nongda Fertilizer Industry aligns with the national policy of reducing fertilizer use while boosting efficiency and has earned widespread approval from growers.
On June 15, the Shandong Provincial Agricultural Technology Extension Station and the Tai’an Academy of Agricultural Sciences jointly conducted yield assessments and acceptance tests on trials of various potato-specific fertilizer formulations and application rates provided by Nongda Feiyi Technology Co., Ltd.
According to the acceptance results, under full-rate fertilization (160 kg per mu), the humic acid‑based controlled‑release fertilizer increased potato yields by an average of 9.51% compared with conventional fertilization. Even when fertilizer application was reduced by 30%, the humic acid‑based controlled‑release fertilizer still delivered an average yield increase of 8.86%.
Yang Yuanjun, a researcher at the Vegetable Research Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, stated that potato farmers today often apply excessive fertilizers in pursuit of higher yields, with some regions even exceeding 250 kg per mu. Over-fertilization not only fails to boost yields but also reduces fertilizer use efficiency and can pollute the environment. Gao Zhongqiang, a researcher at the Shandong Agricultural Technology Extension Station, noted that Nongda Fertilizer Industry’s specialized potato formulation has delivered promising results in trials. Moving forward, the two parties will strengthen their collaboration, continue conducting related demonstration projects, and work to promote the adoption of high-efficiency fertilizers.
As a national high-tech enterprise driven by scientific research, Nongda Fertilizer Industry has responded to the national “Action Plan for Achieving Zero Growth in Fertilizer Use by 2020” by actively pursuing high-yield, high-efficiency fertilizer solutions. The company has now developed a portfolio of premium fertilizers centered on humic acid and controlled-release formulations, which have delivered remarkable results across crops such as wheat, corn, and rice. Recent trials on potatoes have also earned unanimous recognition from both experts and farmers. Nongda Fertilizer Industry’s advanced fertilizers offer significant advantages, including reduced agricultural production costs and lower input requirements, thereby playing a vital role in helping farmers boost yields and incomes. Looking ahead, the company will remain committed to its mission of “enabling more farmers to access better fertilizers,” continuing to innovate and develop products that meet farmers’ growing expectations.
