(Reported by Xin Guang) To strengthen the publicity team, cultivate a sense of public relations among managers and correspondents at all levels, enhance their news-writing skills, and help the company’s publicity efforts break new ground, the Corporate Communications Department of Nongda Fertilizer Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Human Resources Department, recently held the 2016 News Writing Training Workshop. More than 40 managers and correspondents from the company’s various centers and departments attended the training.
This training session featured a special lecture by Li Xiaoyan, a senior reporter with China Chemical Industry News. During the session, drawing on her many years of practical experience and extensive writing expertise, Teacher Li focused on introducing the fundamental principles of news writing, the specific requirements for different journalistic genres, the effective use of journalistic language, and the art of crafting compelling headlines. She also addressed key challenges commonly encountered in news writing, offering targeted solutions. In addition, by examining the editorial characteristics of various sections of China Chemical Industry News, she provided detailed guidance on identifying newsworthy stories in daily work, emphasizing thematic focus, and mastering reporting and writing techniques. The training was rich in content, thorough yet accessible, and delivered excellent results.
Through the training, correspondents have broadened their writing approaches and perspectives, deepened their understanding of journalistic techniques, and further enhanced the publicity awareness of managers at all levels and of the correspondents themselves, thereby playing a positive role in elevating the company’s news‑and‑publicity efforts. Participants unanimously expressed their commitment to thoroughly internalize what they have learned, write more, practice more, produce high‑quality news articles, and contribute actively to the enterprise’s promotional endeavors.
