Soil fertility is the foundation of agricultural development.
On June 16–17, the “Forum on Cultivating Soil Fertility and Developing the Industry,” co-hosted by the China Humic Acid Industry Association and the Beijing Soil and Fertilizer Workstation, was held in Beijing. Ding Fangjun, Deputy General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer Co., Ltd., led a delegation that included Wu Qinquan, Director of the Humic Acid Research Laboratory; Jiao Anhao, Manager of the Quality Control Department; and Lu Yanyan, a researcher at the Humic Acid Research Laboratory—three members in total—who attended the conference.
This forum aims to foster the soil‑fertility industry and advance a harmonious relationship between soil and fertility. The conference underscored the requirements of the 13th Five-Year Plan, the implementation of the Action Plan for Protecting and Enhancing Farmland Quality, agricultural supply‑side structural reform, and policies such as the “Ten Measures on Soil.” Participants heard insights from Zhong Luqing, Deputy Director of the Fertilizer Division of the Department of Crop Production Management at the Ministry of Agriculture; Li Rong, Director of the Soil and Fertilizer Quality Inspection Division at the National Agricultural Technology Extension Center; Zeng Xiancheng, Chairman of the China Humic Acid Industry Association; and others, on topics including soil fertility, soil quality, and soil‑fertility theory. Xi Beidou, Chief Engineer and Director of the Office at the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, presented applications of compost‑derived humic acids in soil improvement and remediation. Bai Youlu, President of the Chinese Society for Plant Nutrition and Fertilizers, and other experts engaged in discussions on the supramolecular structure of humic substances. Chen Xinping, Deputy Director of the Center for Resources, Environment, and Food Security at China Agricultural University, provided an in-depth analysis of soil carbon management and agricultural sustainability. Yu Jiayi, Executive President of Beijing Jiabowen Biotechnology Co., Ltd., outlined the development of ecological‑agriculture demonstration bases based on humic acids. In addition, Guo Jianwei, Branch President of the Urumqi Central Sub‑branch of the People’s Bank of China, and others elaborated on how green finance can support the growth of the soil‑fertility sector.
At this conference, the “One Gram of Soil Declaration” was also unveiled: soil is “alive,” and one gram of humus-rich soil harbors 370 million microbial cells. Healthy soil leads to a healthy life. (Excerpt from the “One Gram of Soil Declaration”)
As the leading brand in China’s humic acid industry, this conference has charted the course for Nongda Fertilizer’s next phase of development. The company will seize emerging opportunities, vigorously promote humic‑acid‑based fertilizers, and work to enhance soil fertility, ensuring that more farmers have access to higher‑quality fertilizers.
