“Storing Grain in the Soil, Acting Together”—The 2016 National Training Conference on Humic Acid Fertilizer Application and the New‑Type Fertilizer Promotion Meeting Were Held at Nongda Fertilizer Co., Ltd.

Release Date:

Nongda Humic Acid is a vivid example of the nation’s supply-side structural reform, the policy of reducing fertilizer use while maintaining zero growth, and the strategies of “storing grain in the land” and “storing grain in technology.”

(Reported by Xin Guang) In order to implement the national strategies of “storing grain in the land” and “storing grain in technology,” accelerate the achievement of zero growth in chemical fertilizer use, and promote the application of new types of fertilizers such as humic acid fertilizers, soil conditioners, and biofertilizers—thereby boosting agricultural productivity and efficiency, increasing farmers’ incomes, and advancing green agricultural development—the 2016 National Training Conference on Humic Acid Fertilizer Application and New Fertilizer Promotion was held on March 3 in Feicheng, Shandong Province. The event was co-hosted by the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Shandong Provincial Engineering Research Center for the Efficient Utilization of Humic Acid, with Nongda Fertilizer Industry serving as the organizer. More than 200 participants, including representatives from the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center, heads of provincial and municipal soil and fertilizer stations, and fertilizer distributors, attended the conference.

As public awareness of environmental protection grows and the state strengthens its oversight of fertilizers, achieving zero growth in fertilizer use has become imperative. At the same time, national initiatives—such as bolstering supply-side structural reform, advancing soil improvement and restoration, and enhancing farmland quality—have created favorable opportunities for the research, development, and promotion of new‑type fertilizers. Xu Yang of the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center under the Ministry of Agriculture presented a report on the 2015 trial and demonstration program for humic acid and other novel fertilizers, summarizing and analyzing two years of collaborative efforts between the Center and Nongda Fertilizer Co., Ltd. across nine provinces and 16 counties, involving ten major crops. The results showed that the company’s new‑type fertilizers increased yields by an average of 7.8% per mu and improved fertilizer use efficiency by 8.6%, demonstrating significant effectiveness.

Xin Jingshu, Director of the Soil and Fertilizer Technology Division at the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, stated that achieving zero growth in fertilizer use hinges on the availability of high‑efficiency fertilizer products. Humic‑acid‑based fertilizers are more readily absorbed by crops, enhance fertilizer use efficiency, and bolster plant stress resistance. Nongda Feiyе, a domestic manufacturer that has rapidly expanded its production of humic‑acid‑containing compound fertilizers, has made significant contributions to realizing this goal.

Liu Yansheng, Director of the Shandong Provincial Soil and Fertilizer Station, stated that, in accordance with the “three‑pronged orientation” strategic principles put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Shandong, the province has undertaken extensive work in soil management, fertilizer application, and water conservation, achieving notable results. He also expressed full recognition and high praise for Nongda Fertilizer Industry’s efforts in the research, development, and promotion of innovative fertilizers.

Subsequently, trial sites in Shandong, Hebei, Anhui, Heilongjiang, and other provinces presented and exchanged findings from the 2015 trials of the company’s new fertilizers. Representatives of top-performing distributors shared their experiences in promoting these products, while the Agricultural Technology Extension Center of the Ministry of Agriculture outlined the implementation plan for the 2016 demonstration and promotion program of the company’s innovative fertilizers.

At the meeting, Ge Yuming, Director of the Company’s Strategic Development Center, outlined the company’s vision and strategic roadmap, with a particular focus on its efforts and achievements in technological innovation, new product development, market promotion, and agrochemical services. He emphasized that the company remains committed to its mission of “enabling more farmers to access higher‑quality fertilizers,” continuously prioritizing innovative research into the balanced nutritional needs of crops, soils, and fertilizers, and relentlessly developing cutting‑edge fertilizer products to make fresh contributions to China’s soil and fertilizer sector.
