Nongda Humic Acid addresses the issue of soil–fertilizer harmony.
On December 12, the “Shandong Soil and Fertilizer Society 2015 Symposium on Fertilization and the Environment,” co-organized by Shandong Nongda Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Agricultural University, and the Shandong Provincial Engineering Research Center for the Efficient Utilization of Humic Acids, was solemnly held in Tai’an, Shandong. More than 200 participants attended, including leaders and experts from the Shandong Provincial Soil and Fertilizer Station, the Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong Agricultural University, Qingdao Agricultural University, as well as soil and fertilizer workstations from 17 prefecture-level cities, along with representatives from enterprises, council members, and agricultural extension personnel. The symposium focused on the theme of “Fertilization and the Environment,” conducting in-depth discussions on the application and promotion of innovative fertilizers such as humic acid fertilizers, controlled‑release fertilizers, biofertilizers, and soil conditioners. In light of current agricultural policies, the event sought to identify effective approaches for the application and dissemination of these new fertilizer technologies, with the aim of achieving harmonious development between fertilization practices and environmental sustainability.

Experts from the Shandong Provincial Soil and Fertilizer Station delivered a keynote report titled “Reflections on the Management and Enhancement of Cultivated Land Quality in Shandong Province.” The report analyzed the major challenges facing cultivated land quality in the province, including the still-large area of medium- and low-yielding fields, the prevalence of multiple limiting factors, and issues such as soil acidification, salinization, and the degradation of soils used for facility‑grown vegetables. It further emphasized that soil remediation and improvement—through the application of novel fertilizers, soil conditioners, and precision fertilization—can effectively enhance cultivated land quality.
Vice President Liu Zhaohui of the Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences thoroughly examined pathways for reducing chemical fertilizer use from six perspectives: enhancing carbon sequestration and efficiency, precision fertilization, the application of new‑type fertilizers, scientifically sound fertilization practices, the substitution of organic fertilizers, and the reform of cropping systems.
Ding Fangjun, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer Co., Ltd., analyzed the current status of soil acidification in the Jiaodong region of Shandong Province and provided a detailed data-driven interpretation of the trial‑demonstration results demonstrating the efficacy of the company’s humic‑acid fertilizers and soil conditioners on acidified soils in Jiaodong.
As a leading enterprise in the development of innovative fertilizers such as humic acid fertilizers, bio‑fertilizers, and soil conditioners, Ma Xuewen, Chairman of Nongda Fertilizer Co., Ltd., stated at an academic symposium that the company will continue to deepen and broaden its collaborations with soil and fertilizer stations, agricultural technology extension centers across Shandong Province, and domestic and international research institutions. It will further introduce a range of cutting‑edge products—including humic acid fertilizers, bio‑fertilizers, soil conditioners, and fruit‑tree nutrient solutions—thereby driving the transformation and upgrading of traditional fertilizers. The company will also carry out demonstration projects and promote the widespread adoption of these new fertilizers and soil conditioners, fostering harmonious integration between fertilization practices and environmental sustainability. Through these efforts, Nongda Fertilizer aims to boost agricultural productivity, safeguard soil health, increase farmers’ incomes, and contribute to the realization of its mission: “to enable more farmers to access better fertilizers.”
Zhao Gengxing, Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Society of Soil and Fertilizer, concluded by emphasizing that he hopes colleagues in the province’s soil and fertilizer sector will work diligently to advance the cause of soil and fertilizer management, promote progress and sustainable development in the industry, and make their due contributions to the development of agriculture in Shandong.
Participants noted that, under the new normal of agricultural development, the academic symposium provided a precise analysis of industry trends, charted a clear course for the advancement of the new‑type fertilizer and soil conditioner sectors, and bolstered confidence. During the event, Nongda Fertilizer Co., Ltd. outlined plans to collaborate with agricultural technology extension agencies across various cities on joint trial and demonstration projects involving new‑type fertilizers and soil conditioners.
