Nongda Fertilizer Industry’s research on humic acid was among the earliest in the sector.
Recently, the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology issued a notice announcing the first batch of projects under the 2011 Science and Technology Development Plan. Our company’s project, “Research and Development of Key Technologies for Producing Active Humic Acid Compound Fertilizer from Weathered Coal,” has been approved, marking another significant step forward in advancing and elevating our research and development efforts in the humic acid field.
Since the early 21st century, our company has been engaged in the research, development, and production of humic acid‑based products. Through continuous experimentation, we have developed a range of new humic‑acid‑based fertilizers, including active humic acid compound fertilizers, slow‑release fertilizers, and flush‑applied fertilizers, with diverse formulations and varieties. Extensive field trials have demonstrated that these humic acid fertilizers deliver excellent nutrient efficiency and soil‑improving benefits, while also enhancing crop quality and boosting yields. As a result, they have earned widespread recognition and favor among farmers, particularly in regions cultivating cash crops, with sales steadily increasing. The approval of this project marks the first time our company has received funding under the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Development Program. Building on this initiative, we will focus on optimizing formulation selection, refining production processes, and upgrading equipment for the manufacture of active humic acid compound fertilizers from weathered coal. Through this research, we aim to further develop innovative products and advanced manufacturing technologies, thereby elevating both the technological sophistication and overall quality of our humic‑acid‑based compound fertilizers.
The Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Development Program is a key science and technology initiative receiving substantial financial support from the province. The program consistently prioritizes the critical needs of national economic development and sustainable social progress, aligning with the strategic priorities set by the provincial Party Committee and the provincial government. Its primary focus is on advancing industrial technological upgrading and structural adjustment, as well as addressing major public‑interest technical challenges. By achieving breakthroughs in critical technologies, fostering innovation through the adaptation of imported technologies, and promoting the application and commercialization of cutting‑edge technologies, the program provides robust technical support for restructuring the industrial landscape, nurturing emerging industries, advancing sustainable social development, and enhancing the quality of life for the people.
Humic acid fertilizers, owing to their remarkable advantages, enjoy strong market viability and promising prospects. Securing funding from the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Development Program will undoubtedly further advance our company’s research, development, and commercialization of humic acid products, enabling us to contribute to higher yields and bountiful harvests for farmers.
