To comprehensively enhance the marketing capabilities and skills of its dealer and marketing teams, Shandong Nongda Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd. has partnered with Shandong Agricultural University to establish the Nongda Fertilizer Business School. On June 6, the school officially commenced a three-day training program at the Continuing Education College of Shandong Agricultural University. Attending the event were Zhong Luqing, Deputy Director of the Department of Crop Production under the Ministry of Agriculture; Chen Li, Director of the China Fertilizer Information Center; Ma Xuewen, General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer; Qi Leqiu, Dean of the Continuing Education College of Shandong Agricultural University; Ding Fangjun, Deputy General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer; Lu Yongxiang, Vice Dean of the Continuing Education College of Shandong Agricultural University; and Huang Zuguang, an EMBA marketing expert from Tsinghua University. Professors Liu Yusheng, Peng Futian, and Zhu Ge Yuping of Shandong Agricultural University were invited to deliver lectures during the session. More than one hundred distinguished dealers from five provinces—Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Jiangsu, and Anhui—participated in the training.
This conference has received high attention from the leadership. Ma Xuewen, General Manager of Nongda Fertilizer Co., Ltd., and Qi Leqiu, Dean of the School of Continuing Education at the Agricultural University, each delivered remarks, welcoming all distinguished distributors to this training session and wishing it a successful conclusion.
At the outset of the meeting, Director Zhong and Director Chen delivered presentations on “Adapting to the Needs of Modern Agriculture to Promote the Development of Scientific Fertilization” and “Trends in China’s Fertilizer Industry,” respectively. They provided a comprehensive analysis of China’s agricultural and grain‑production development, the current landscape and challenges facing scientific fertilization, strategies and measures for advancing this approach, as well as the fertilizer industry’s present conditions, distinctive features, and existing issues. They called on enterprises and distributors to collaborate closely, deliver end-to‑end plant nutrition solutions, and carry out demonstration projects that yield tangible results for farmers, thereby jointly forging a path of scientifically informed fertilization with Chinese characteristics and making a positive contribution to safeguarding national food security, agricultural product quality and safety, and agricultural ecological sustainability.
From the perspective of distributors, Teacher Huang delivered a compelling marketing presentation centered on “the energy and wisdom of business owners,” energizing the conference and bolstering participants’ confidence in their marketing efforts while enhancing the marketing capabilities and skills of both distributor and marketing teams.
The engaging lectures delivered by plant protection expert Liu Yusheng, fruit tree cultivation specialist Peng Futian, and soil and fertilizer expert Professor Zhu Ge Yuping enriched the content of this training course, broadening participants’ knowledge in areas such as the prevention and control of wheat and maize pests and diseases, orchard soil and nutrient management, and formula‑based fertilization. The program aims to enhance trainees’ agricultural chemistry expertise and practical skills.
The conference was conducted through daytime lectures and evening group discussions. Participants formed discussion groups by branch company, engaging in lively debates and responses on topics such as Nongda Village, the Nongda Super Combination, terminal‑level promotional strategies, micro‑agriculturalization initiatives, and training reflections. Each group selected outstanding members to deliver presentations, and top performers were recognized and awarded.
As the conference drew to a close, participants, guided by instructors from Nongda Fertilizer’s agrochemical team, toured Nongda Fertilizer’s Ruining demonstration field. The visit provided a clear, scientific demonstration of the effectiveness of Nongda’s all‑natural potassium sulfate–based, active humic acid slow‑release fertilizer (16‑9‑20) on Xizhou melons and potatoes. It challenged the traditional practice of leaving only one fruit per vine, while the plants retained lush, vibrant foliage—results that exceeded the farm owner’s expectations and sparked keen interest among the attendees. Finally, Yang Yongxing, Director of Nongda Fertilizer’s Third Marketing Center; Li Peiguo, Manager of the Northeast Branch; and Xi Lianhua of Nongda Fertilizer each shared insights on village‑level development, sales strategies, and end‑user promotion initiatives.
At the conclusion of the training, Lu Shouzun, Vice President of Nongda Fertilizer Industry, presented graduation certificates from Shandong Agricultural University and the Nongda Fertilizer Industry Business School to the participants, and awarded certificates of excellence to 15 outstanding trainees. With this, the Nongda Fertilizer Industry Business School’s training conference came to a successful close.
