The sustainable development model of Nongda Fertilizer Industry through industry–university–research collaboration
Recently, the “Research and Demonstration of Environmentally Friendly, Crop-Specific Controlled-Release Fertilizers” project of Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd. was designated as a “Shandong Province Torch Program Project.” The Torch Program is a high‑tech industrialization initiative that is guided by domestic and international market demand, builds on the outcomes of national, regional, and sectoral science‑and‑technology breakthrough programs, cutting‑edge research and development efforts, and other scientific achievements, and aims to develop high‑tech products and establish related industries. By implementing Torch Program projects, it fosters the emergence of high‑tech enterprises and enterprise groups. This particular project undertaken by Agricultural University Fertilizer falls within the fields of new energy and high‑efficiency energy conservation; upon implementation, it will reduce labor requirements for fertilization and minimize fertilizer leaching, thereby curbing resource waste and environmental pollution while effectively improving the agricultural ecological environment.
The “Research and Demonstration of Environmentally Friendly, Crop-Specific Controlled-Release Fertilizers” project marks another major research initiative for Shandong Agricultural University Fertilizer Co., Ltd., following its participation in and leadership of the National 948 Program, the Agricultural Science and Technology Leapfrogging Project, the National Tenth Five-Year Plan Key Scientific and Technological Project, and the Agricultural Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Fund.
