[Soil Conditioner] Good soil, better crops.

Release Date:

2018-12-15

Soil conditioners can ameliorate acidic and alkaline soils and enhance the quality of cultivated land.

I. Introduction to Soil Conditioning

According to the “Public Bulletin on the National Grade Classification of Cultivated Land Quality,” approximately 510 million mu of China’s cultivated land is affected by limiting factors, accounting for 27.9% of the country’s total cultivated land area. Soil remediation and protection have thus become top priorities for advancing green, high-quality agricultural development in China.

II. Soil Conditioner from the Agricultural University

Nongda Fertilizer Industry has leveraged local tailings resources to pioneer a humic acid–based soil amendment technology, establishing a production line capable of manufacturing 30,000 tons per year of humic acid–based composite silicon‑calcium‑magnesium soil conditioners. This has enabled the integrated development of a low‑energy, cost‑effective, and environmentally friendly new‑generation humic acid soil conditioner, with successful application and promotion in improving acidic and alkaline soils and enhancing arable land quality.

The soil-conditioning technology developed by the Agricultural University has been evaluated by experts and found to meet international advanced standards.

Nongda Fertilizer Industry spearheaded the development of the standard for humic acid soil conditioners and, in 2018, was awarded the Second Prize of the Shandong Provincial Technological Innovation Award and the First Prize for Patents from Tai’an City.

Using this technology, Nongda Fertilizer Industry has developed five types of soil conditioners: acidic soil conditioner, alkaline soil conditioner, humic acid–based water‑retaining fertilizer, Soil Loosener No. 1, and a high‑calcium, potassium, and magnesium formulation.

III. Verification of the Efficacy of the Agricultural University Soil Conditioner

The efficacy of the Agricultural University soil conditioner can be evaluated through flocculation‑sedimentation tests and acid‑soil amendment trials.
