An important step toward high-level scientific research

On April 21, the defense committee for the postdoctoral research proposals of Dr. Li Pei and Dr. Cong Ping convened at the Agricultural University Fertilizer Company. Renowned experts—including Academician Xu Minggang from Shanxi Agricultural University, Professors Zhang Min and Wan Yongshan, Dean Zhu Ge Yuping, and Minister Gao Xia of the Soil and Fertilizer Division at the Shandong Provincial Agricultural Technology Extension Center—gathered to jointly embark on a new chapter in agricultural scientific research.
Accompanied by the company’s management, Academician Xu Minggang and his delegation toured the Nongda Company’s exhibition hall and production facilities, gaining an in-depth understanding of its research and development achievements in humic acid fertilizers, and expressing strong appreciation for the enterprise’s R&D capabilities.
As a national high-tech enterprise, Nongda Fertilizer has achieved remarkable results in research talent development and the commercialization of scientific findings. Since establishing its postdoctoral research workstation in 2015, it has recruited 10 postdocs—three have completed their terms, while seven are currently conducting research. The research projects span multiple disciplines, yielding 16 high‑impact publications (11 indexed in SCI/EI), 10 granted patents (including 7 invention patents), and more than 10 new products, thereby providing robust support for the company’s growth.
The postdoctoral workstation serves as a pivotal platform for the company to deepen industry–university–research collaboration and advance green agricultural development. At this proposal defense meeting, with Academician Xu serving as the chief scientist, the research focuses on elucidating the causes of peanut yellowing in the Huanghuaihai region and investigating how carbon‑source inputs enhance the structural stability of organic carbon in coastal saline‑alkali soils. This event not only provides a comprehensive review of the postdoctoral research projects but also marks an important step forward for the company in elevating its scientific research efforts in the development of peanut‑specific functional fertilizers and specialized soil amendments for saline‑alkali lands.
