Yield increased by 1,365 jin per mu, a 20.1% rise!

In 2023, the research team from Nongda Group’s Research Institute selected a plot belonging to Brother Chao in Dongfuzhuang Village, Taoyuan Town, Feicheng City, Tai’an, as the experimental site for a new type of fertilizer. The trial was conducted within the same greenhouse, with six furrows in total: the three furrows on the left received Nongda’s fertilizer—18-8-20S humic acid dual‑control (nitrogen‑ and potassium‑controlled) compound fertilizer—while the three furrows on the right were treated with the locally customary fertilizer—17-8-21S conventional high‑potassium compound fertilizer. Only the base application differed; topdressing and field management were identical. Throughout multiple growth stages, the Group’s Agricultural Science Institute, regional sales managers, and distributors provided ongoing support. Yield measurements showed an increase of 1,365 jin per mu, corresponding to a 20.1% yield gain.
On May 16, the inaugural stop of the “Amazing Humic Acid 2024 – China Tour: Real-World Yield Measurement at China Agricultural University” was successfully held in Dongfuzhuang Village, Taoyuan Town, Feicheng City, Shandong Province. The event received high attention from the Group’s leadership. Chairman Ma Xuewen, Deputy General Manager Ding Fangjun, and several other executives attended in person, engaging warmly with local farmers and jointly witnessing this momentous occasion.
Through on-site yield measurements, attendees witnessed firsthand the real-world performance of Nongda’s humic acid‑based controlled‑release fertilizer in the field. Guo Xinsong, Director of the Nongda Group Research Institute, provided an on‑site explanation of the science behind the controlled‑release fertilizer and addressed growers’ many questions throughout the cultivation process.
During the yield‑estimation process, Dean Guo Xinsong provided a detailed explanation of the potato growth cycle and the proper use of controlled‑release fertilizers. He emphasized that, given the increasingly severe and unpredictable weather conditions in recent years, selecting a high‑tech fertilizer is particularly important. The dual‑control fertilizer chosen by the Agricultural University leverages humic acid to enhance nutrient efficiency and promote plant vigor while boosting the effectiveness of chemical nutrients, thereby improving the crop’s resilience to extreme weather. This dual‑control formulation not only addresses the issue of excessive vegetative growth in greenhouse‑grown potatoes but also optimizes the timing of nutrient uptake among nitrogen, potassium, and calcium, facilitating robust cell division in the tubers. Moreover, it ensures an adequate supply of potassium in the later stages, enabling efficient nutrient translocation back to the tubers.
In response to this product, the research team conducted 12 comparative field trials, all of which yielded highly satisfactory yield‑boosting results. These outcomes exceeded the product’s design expectations and greatly bolstered the confidence of the R&D team. Ding Fangjun, Deputy General Manager of the Group, stated that Nongda’s potato‑specific fertilizer, incorporating humic acid, nitrogen‑ and potassium‑control technologies, and an optimized nutrient ratio, has been developed into an integrated four‑in‑one formulation that delivered outstanding performance right from its first application. Looking ahead, the Group’s research team will continue to develop more high‑quality products, bringing greater economic benefits to farmers.
After weighing and tare correction, the demonstration plot yielded 8,150 jin, while the control plot yielded 6,785 jin, representing an increase of 1,365 jin per mu.
During an interview, the landowner, Brother Chao, remarked: “If we use only Nongda fertilizers, this plot could generate an additional 1,092 yuan in income.” This boost in yield prompted the farmers present to give a thumbs-up.
User satisfaction is our ultimate goal. Ma Xuewen, Chairman of Nongda Group, stated, “Our mission is to provide farmers with high-quality fertilizers, helping them achieve greater yields and higher incomes.” To realize this vision, we will steadfastly uphold our strategic commitment to the “Three Goods and One High” principle—high‑quality seeds, premium fertilizers, and sound management—ensuring that these three pillars deliver robust returns. At the same time, we will continue to rely on rigorous yield measurements and comparative performance analyses, letting data speak for itself and empowering farmers to draw their own conclusions.
